Interact Club's Floor Hockey for Heat Tournament
On Friday afternoon, Chariho High School’s Interact Club hosted a floor hockey tournament which proceeds went to benefit the community.
“The mission behind the Interact Club is to help the community through volunteer work and fundraisers,” says Chloe Shilale, the President of the Interact Club, a student version of the Rotary Club.
There were approximately 10 teams with approximately 50 participants. After a tournament-style game, the team called Floor Horsemen took the victory.
In the “Floor Hockey for Heat” fundraiser, the service-based club raised money for those in the community that cannot pay their heating bills. Shilale acknowledged, “This fundraiser ensures that community members are taken care of and are kept warm.”
In addition to the money made at the fundraiser, the Rotary Club will match the amount of money that they earned, helping the community even more.
Anyone interested in joining the Interact Club in their upcoming community service projects should contact Chloe Shilale.
