Write! Rhode Island competition winners give reading and sign books for fans
On September 23rd, Andrew Ackroyd (10) joined Chariho alumni Marissa Alfiero and MET school student Kiani Pope at the Teen Reading Festival hosted by the Barnes and Noble in Warwick. The students read from their award-winning stories recognized in last year's Write! Rhode Island competition. After the readings, there was a book signing of the anthology printed to showcase the winning stories and a workshop to help young writers hone their skills. Write! Rhode Island is an organization that gives that was created to give opportunities for writing for Rhode Island students. The second year of Write! Rhode Island competition is open for all students in grades 7-12. Stories will be accepted until December 10th.
